... let me point you to my new favorite blog, More Ways to Waste Time.
I'm a freelance writer, editor, and home-design junkie in Oakland, California. This is the place where I share my design finds and objects of decorating lust, chronicle the process of making my family's house a home, and probably post a few other random things.
In twenty minutes of reading Leah's blog, I've found out about an ongoing art walk (show?) in my town, places to go for local, creative design solutions, and an additional resource for all things Oakland.
Speaking of Oakland, I also stumbled upon a blog, OaklandGoods, that is all about good, beautiful things that can be found in and around the area. The blogger is also interested in green, eco-friendly design and has posted about artists and artisans who share that philosophy.
While I'm telling you about Oakland-based blogs and artisans, I would be remiss if I didn't also point you in the way of my friend and jewelry designer extraordinaire, Carrie Mader. Carrie, a former interior designer, began her jewelry design business when she couldn't find any beautiful jewelry for her bridesmaids so she designed them herself. Carrie also designed the necklace I wore for my wedding; in fact, I think I was one of the first brides she designed for.
Also, my favorite magazine ever, Sunset, has its very own blog - I've already added it to my RSS feeder.
