One of the things I love most about cold weather is that I am better able to cook the hearty meals that I love more frequently. Friday night I made cream of mushroom soup, breakfast on Saturday was a puffy Maine pancake, and dinner on Sunday was braised chicken with mushrooms, onions and thyme, roasted brussel sprouts and chicken & garlic rice (I have to admit the rice was of the San Francisco treat variety).
I was going to make a shrimp & black bean dish tonight for dinner but Alan is heading out to dinner with some friends so I'll probably just boil some Ling Ling potstickers.
Our menu for the rest of the week will likely go a little something like this:
- shrimp & black beans and queso
- lamb "lollipops" and cauliflower
- gnocchi with prosciutto & marinara sauce
And now it's lunch time and I'm starved and I have no idea what I want to eat.
