I was “tagged” by the lovely Laura of the equally lovely shoot-scoop blog. I’ve never been tagged in the blogosphere – unless you count LJ friends – so I’m having a bit of a Sally Field “oh my god, they like me!” moment. I have FRIENDS, y’all. This is awesome.
Since I grew up in the L.A. area and spent my fair share of time around many a cholo, people from my family who are reading this, let me clarify for you. My car or house has not been vandalized. I have not been graffiti’d and I do not need a can of white paint.
To quote Laura, “for those new to ‘Tagging’ – it’s a form of blog networking, which you answer 5 questions and pass the questions along to 6 other bloggers.” Like Laura, I can’t promise my answers won’t be boring, but I feel it my duty to share since she thought I was worth the investment.
1. Where were you 10 years ago?
I believe June 1998 was the summer I interned for Clear Channel Communications in Pittsburgh, PA. If my calculations are correct, this was one of the funnest summers of my life. I spent nearly every day outdoors with my friends and the DJ’s (including the Real Deal Mike Steele) of WDVE, 105.9 The X and Mix 96.1. We attended concerts – for free! – hung out at bars (VIP, y’all!) and just generally had a wonderful time of it all. Except for the time when my internship class made my friend Emily and I come in for a presentation instead of hanging out with the lads from Barenaked Ladies. That day sucked! We did drive out to Starlake Amphitheater (erm, the Post Gazette Pavillion at Star Lake now apparently) later that evening for the concert, but I did not get to eat burgers & dogs with the band.
Oh, and Alan and I had finally moved in together. This is a touchy subject so I won’t go into it. Let’s just say that we’d had a failed attempt at cohabitation previously that to this day is a sore and painful reminder of how turbulent love young can be.
